New Products Data aggregation software for carbon composites COMPOSITE TOOLING A new software platform from NLign Analytics (Cincinnati, Ohio) is designed exclusively for manufacturers of carbon-���ber composites and the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations that see them in service. The NLign platform aggregates inspection, maintenance and manufacturing data and then displays it in a 3-D environment, an approach said to reveal hidden relationships in the data that can be exploited to reduce the time, cost and effort necessary to make and maintain carbon composite structures. NLign reportedly transforms raw data into actionable information that simpli���es the manufacturing and repair process. Data are mapped to a 3-D computer model of the part, making it easier to ���nd and access information. The system can automatically collect aircraft inspection data from nondestructive inspection (NDI) equipment, inspector annotations, digital images, SAP systems, paper forms and other process data.
